29 May 2026 — The Mindat Township Public Administration Team in Chin State has imposed a nighttime curfew starting from 27 May following reports of theft and looting in abandoned homes in Mindat town.

The order was issued after some residents fled their homes and relocated to safer areas amid ongoing clashes and military offensives in the region. Local leading members stated that certain individuals had reportedly broken into vacant houses and stolen civilian property.

To prevent further theft and protect public property, the township administration said they have begun conducting nightly security patrols and monitoring operations.

Under the curfew order, residents have been instructed to remain in their homes or bomb shelters at night, avoid travelling to public areas without permission, and refrain from gathering in groups.

The curfew is enforced daily from 9:0 pm to 5:00 am until further notice.

The announcement comes amid intensified military operations by SSPC forces, which are carrying out both ground and aerial offensives in an attempt to regain control of townships currently held by Chin resistance forces.

Ongoing clashes between resistance groups and military forces continue to be reported in the area. – Reporting by Ben
