SSPC conducts multiple airstrikes on Mindat and Kanpetlet

30 June 2026 — The State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) military carried out multiple airstrikes on Mindat and Kanpetlet townships in Chin State.

According to local sources, a Y-12 bomber aircraft from Tada-U Air Base conducted eight bombing runs over eastern Mindat between 7:00 am and 7:30 am, dropping 24 bombs in clusters of three.

The aircraft later shifted its operation to eastern Kanpetlet township, where it carried out at least two additional bombing runs beginning at around 7:38 am.

The aerial attacks resumed in the evening. Between 7:00 pm and 7:45 pm, the same type of aircraft conducted 12 bombing runs over eastern Mindat, dropping more than 40 bombs in clusters of two, three, and five.

In total, SSPC aircraft conducted at least 22 bombing runs, dropping more than 64 bombs on eastern Mindat and Kanpetlet townships on 30 June.

Information regarding casualties and damage was not immediately available. – Reporting by Ben
