2 June 2026 — The State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) carried out a series of airstrikes in Mindat township, Chin State, this morning.
Initial reports indicated that two fighter jets from Tada-U Air Base conducted four bombing runs between 6:00 am and 6:24 am, dropping a total of eight bombs on a location within Mindat’s township.
In the evening at approximately 8:57 pm, a fighter jet from Tada-U Air Base carried out an airstrike on a location in Mindat township, dropping two bombs.
Local sources reported hearing multiple explosions, and the airstrikes heightened concerns among communities in the area. Details regarding casualties and damage have not yet been confirmed.
The airstrikes coincided with reports of increased military activity in the region. According to local sources, a military column of approximately 100 junta troops departed from Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 368 in Kyaukhtu at around 6:00 pm on 1 June and moved westward.
Later in the evening, junta troops and allied Pyusawhtee (Pro-SSPC-militia) members stationed in Saw split into two groups and advanced toward Kanpetlet township.
