28 May 2026 — The State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) aircraft dropped cargo packages at Artillery Battalion No. 368 in Kyaukhtu town, Saw township, Yaw region of Magway Region, according to local sources.
The aircraft, which reportedly departed from Shan Te Air Base in Meiktila, circled the area at least 12 times between approximately 9:50 am and after 11:00 am. During the operation, no fewer than 36 cargo packages were dropped by parachute, with three packages attached to each parachute.
Local sources stated that the supplies may have included food rations and ammunition for junta troops stationed in the area. A video related to the air-drop operation was also circulated online.

At the same time, a junta military column of around 300 troops reportedly advanced south toward Saw town from Kan Gyi village.
Ground sources stated that the column passed Kyantaw village, while its forward security units reached the area near Thanbaung Bridge beyond Lelkyaing village and continued moving along the Saw–Kyaukhtu road. The column was also reported to include at least one military vehicle.
Amid increasing military tensions in Saw township and the Kyaukhtu area, residents have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel along the Saw–Kyaukhtu road and into Kyaukhtu town.
Communities near the road have also been urged to closely monitor the security situation and prepare for possible displacement if necessary.
Local sources further warned that artillery attacks, armed clashes, and airstrikes could occur during ongoing military movements. Residents living along the route and in nearby villages are being urged to remain alert, avoid unnecessary movement, and closely monitor developments in the local security situation. – Reporting by Ben
