11 March 2026 – State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) troops heavily shelled Lumbang and Parte villages in Falam township, Chin State, around 5:00 pm on Monday, using both heavy artillery and drones.

The advancing SSPC column fired artillery into Lumbang village and dropped bombs via drones. Parte village was also subjected to heavy shelling, which damaged one residential house.

“A heavy artillery shell landed on a house in Parte village. The homeowner was inside, and the shell exploded nearby. Fortunately, no one was injured, but the house sustained damage,” a local resident told the Surbung Times.

The SSPC column has now reached the area between Hlanzawl and Lumbang villages, forcing residents from both villages to urgently flee to safer locations.

Last week, the SSPC conducted aerial bombings on Lumbang village on 1 March 2026, causing extensive damage to civilian homes and property, and carried out further airstrikes on Falam town and Lumbang village on 6 March 2026.

Approximately 773 local residents—410 people from 123 households in Lumbang village and 363 people from 94 households in Parte village—are currently facing extreme hardship due to the conflict. These residents have been forced to take refuge in the surrounding forests and mountains. – Reporting by Daniel
