11 March 2026 — The Gangaw District Military Command of the People’s Defence Forces has issued a public notice urging residents in revolutionary-controlled areas to follow security regulations to ensure public safety.

According to the statement released on 10 March, the directive was issued following reports of sporadic gunfire and explosions in some areas under the group’s control.

The statement said the notice aims to reduce risks to civilians and maintain security in the district.

The notice states that only members of revolutionary armed forces are permitted to possess weapons and ammunition, and civilians are prohibited from carrying weapons.

It also warns that weapons testing or the use of explosives must not take place near villages or military camps. Any group planning to test weapons must inform nearby village administrative groups and the relevant battalion or military unit in advance, the statement said.

The Gangaw District Military Command added that action will be taken against individuals or groups who fail to comply with these regulations. – Reporting by Ben
