10 March 2026 – Representatives from the Zomi Revolutionary Army-Eastern Command (ZRA-EC) and military officials from the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) convened on 5 March in Tedim town, Chin State, to discuss potential collaboration, including the supply of arms and joint military operations.

According to a reliable source familiar with the matter, the meeting occurred inside the base of SSPC’s Light Infantry Battalion 269 (LIB-269) in Tedim town.

The ZRA-EC, an armed Zomi nationalist group primarily active in parts of Tedim and Tonzang townships, Chin State, has long been accused by resistance forces and local sources of aligning with Myanmar’s military junta.

This includes reports of receiving weapons, ammunition, and other support from junta forces to conduct operations against anti-regime Chin revolutionary groups, such as elements of the Chinland Defence Force (CDF) and People’s Defence Forces (PDFs).

The SSPC, established by the military regime as a key body overseeing security and peace-related matters, operates under the National Defence and Security Council and is chaired by Senior General Min Aung Hlaing. It plays a central role in the junta’s military and administrative strategies amid ongoing nationwide conflict following the 2021 coup.

This reported meeting highlights the persistent and complex alliances in Chin State, where the ZRA-EC has clashed repeatedly with pro-democracy and ethnic Chin resistance forces. Such dynamics contribute to fragmented fighting and challenges to unified opposition against the military administration.

The broader conflict in Chin State remains volatile, with resistance groups controlling much of the territory outside junta-held towns like Tedim and Hakha, while civilians face displacement, airstrikes, and inter-factional tensions. No official statements have been released by the involved parties confirming the meeting’s outcomes. – Reporting by Daniel, refined and updated by the news desk.
