Chin traditional house constructed for CND exhibition

08 February 2015 — A Chin traditional house is under construction in preparation for an exhibition at the celebration of Chin National Day on 20 February.

The event organizing committee indicated that the vernacular structure measuring 40 feet by 20 feet would stand as one of the main exhibits on the occassion.

Pa Bu, 75, a Tiphul villager in charge of the construction, said in the Hakha Post that he tried his best to include all the parts including a front large deck and a wooden fence.

He also said that it would be built of pine wood, bamboos and thatch.

Since 2 February, the house has been built on the Vumtu Mawng Football Ground where the event will take place marking the 67th anniversary.#
