Hundreds to attend Falam youth conference
26 December 2013: More than 300 people from both inside and outside of Burma are expected to participate in the Falam Youth Conference scheduled to kick off in Falam this Saturday.
Chin leaders including Dr. Za Hlei Thang, member of the Supreme Council of the Chin National Front (CNF), Pu No Than Kap, Chin Affairs Minister of Sagaing Region, Pu Kap Tial, Chief Justice of Chin State, Pu Ngun San Aung, Minister for Transport of the Chin State government, Chin MPs, activists, and Christian pastors will also attend the event.
The organizers said that the 5-day conference would discuss various topics involving issues related to development and a collaborative network for the youth in the future.
With its motto that reads ‘Solidarity and Go Forward Together’, it also aims to find ways in which communication between Chin youths from Burma and abroad can be strengthened in the new political environment.
According to media reports, Chin youths from USA, UK, Norway, Singapore, Switzerland, India and other parts of Burma will also take part in the Falam conference.
The Falam Youth Conference is organized at the Chin Christian Institute of Theology from 29 December 2013 to 2 January 2013 by the Global Falam Youth Organization (GFYO) in association with other youth groups, according to Chinland Today news.#
