14 April 2026 – A State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) military airstrike on Mindat town, Chin State, killed one person and injured more than ten others on the night of 11 April, according to local sources.

The attack, which began around 10 pm, involved three military jet fighters dropping approximately eight bombs, including incendiary devices, across multiple areas of the town.

A local resident reported that the deceased was a man, believed to be a detained police officer, while the injured include both civilians and non-civilians. The strikes caused significant damage to infrastructure, destroying more than 20 buildings—including private homes, a post office, and a religious office—and at least four vehicles.

Mindat town has been a key stronghold for the resistance since falling under the control of the Chinland Defence Force-Mindat (CDF-Mindat) and allied forces in late 2024.

Consequently, the area has been subjected to a sustained campaign of aerial assaults. Between May and August 2025 alone, the SSPC conducted at least 176 airstrikes in the township, resulting in over 40 civilian deaths.

This latest incident follows a pattern of strikes targeting non-military sites in Chin State, including a March 2026 attack on Mindat’s eastern ward following a shift in military leadership. – Reporting by Daniel
