12 April 2026 — The State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) launched a devastating series of airstrikes on Mindat town last night, destroying more than 20 civilian homes and at least four private vehicles.

The attack, which began around 10 pm involved three military jet fighters—two from Tada-U air base and one from Magway airbase—that dropped approximately eight bombs within one hour.

Initial local reports indicate civilian deaths, though a final casualty count is pending confirmation.

Mindat is a key stronghold for the resistance, having been under the control of the Chinland Defence Force-Mindat (CDF-Mindat) and allied forces since late 2024. The town and surrounding areas in Chin State have been subjected to escalating aerial assaults as the SSPC intensifies its campaign against local resistance groups committed to ousting all military bases.

This latest attack aligns with a pattern of frequent and indiscriminate air operations in Chin State. Previous SSPC airstrikes in the region have targeted civilian areas like Falam town and Zawngkawng village, as well as critical infrastructure such as churches and a hospital.

Between May and August 2025, the SSPC carried out at least 176 airstrikes in Mindat township, resulting in the deaths of over 40 civilians, including women and children, according to local administration reports.#
