15 May 2026 – Public concern has emerged in Tedim town, Chin State, following the death of Mr. Thang Khan Dal, owner of Cherry Hotel, amid conflicting accounts regarding the circumstances surrounding his death.
According to local sources, Mr. Thang Khan Dal, a resident of Suangzang village and a locally known businessman, was detained by members of the Zomi Federal Union/People’s Defence Force-Zoland (ZFU/PDF-Zoland) group. The group later announced that he had died due to health complications, including diabetes-related illness.
However, family members and local residents have questioned the explanation after the body was reportedly returned with visible injuries. Individuals who viewed the body said they observed bruises and other marks on multiple parts of the body.
Additional reports circulating locally alleged signs of serious physical injuries, including possible fractures and marks around the neck, though these claims have not been independently verified.
