27 October 2025 – Myanmar’s military junta has been consistently deploying troop reinforcements to Tedim town in Chin State since Saturday, 25 October 2025.

Local sources report that military helicopters have been observed making multiple landings, delivering dozens of soldiers and supplies into the town. This morning, at least two such drops occurred, following five similar operations reported on Sunday.

Further military movements include trucks seen advancing from Kalay town in Sagaing Region towards Chin State.

In response to the heightened military presence, the CDF CDM Siyin (Civic Defense Militia) has announced the closure of community motorbike roads due to security concerns.

In recent days, the State Security and Peace Commission (previously known as State Administration Council) reinforced troops into Kalay town by air, using Kalay University as a reinforcement base.

CHRO suggests in its statement that this military buildup is directly connected to the junta’s intentions to conduct fraudulent elections, a move perceived as an attempt to solidify control through violent means.

Military operations are reportedly targeting Chin State from at least three directions. Troops are being reinforced into Tedim town via Kalay with an aim to attack the Rihkhawdar and Tonzang areas.

Additionally, forces are deploying into Kyaukhtu town in Magway Region to conduct military operations in Kanpetlet, Mindat, and Matupi townships. The final reported advance is into Hakha town, intended for attacks in Thantlang and Falam townships.

Analysts suggest these deployments are a prelude to the upcoming elections slated for late December 2025.

Today, approximately 15 military trucks were observed on the Kalay-Gangaw road. This development has compelled thousands of residents from nearby villages to evacuate their homes, seeking refuge in forests and other villages.#
