26 October 2025 – Myanmar’s military junta carried out another airstrike on Kanpetlet town around 8:30 pm last night, marking the second day in a row that the area has been subjected to aerial bombardment.
Local reports indicate that two jet fighters conducted three bombing runs on the western side of the town. The full extent of the damage and any potential casualties are currently under investigation.
A resident, speaking to Zalen News, stated that the bombs landed near Fire Station Hill in No. 2 Ward. Due to the late hour and distance, precise details regarding the destruction remain unconfirmed.
This latest assault follows a deadly attack just yesterday, 24 October, when the junta bombed a wedding ceremony in Kanpetlet town, resulting in the deaths of three men and one woman, and injuring several others.
Kanpetlet, situated in southern Chin State, has been under the control of local defense forces for several months and has endured repeated aerial attacks from the junta. – Reporting by Benjamin
