24 October 2025 – Two airstrikes by Myanmar’s military junta struck Kanpetlet town this morning around 9:20 am, resulting in at least four deaths and over 15 injuries.
Local reports indicate that a jet fighter from the State Administration Council (SAC), now referred to as the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC), dropped one bomb in the initial strike and two in the second, targeting a wedding ceremony in No. 2 Myoma Ward.
While three men and one woman have been confirmed dead, the full extent of casualties and damages is still being assessed, with the number expected to rise as search efforts continue.
The wedding was being held for a prominent member of the Chinland Defence Force-Kanpetlet, a local resistance group that controls the town.
In recent days, the SAC has conducted multiple airstrikes on schools, churches, and other civilian areas across Chin State. These actions coincide with troop reinforcements via Kalay town, reportedly in preparation for planned elections in late December 2025.#
