24 October 2025 – The Central Young Mizo Association (YMA) inaugurated the new leaders of Mizoram’s biggest non-governmental organization for the years 2025-2027 in an event ‘Inkhawmpui Lian 2025: Vawi 75-na (75th Central YMA Conference)’ held yesterday.

YMA was established on 15 June 1935, as the Young Lushai Association (YLA). In 1947, its name was changed to “Young Mizo Association.” Welsh Christian missionaries created it to help the Mizo tribe keep their culture, as they faced changes from politics and modern society. In 1977, it became officially registered under Indian law.
