8 June 2026 – A non-CDM (non-Civil Disobedience Movement) school teacher, Mr. Kim Za Piang, was found dead inside a house in Farthawk Ward, Falam town, Chin State, according to local sources.
Reports indicate that Mr. Kim Za Piang had returned to Falam town on 5 June from Zokhawthar town, a Myanmar-India border area where he had been staying after being displaced by the conflict. He was subsequently found dead inside a residence in Falam on 7 June.
His body was transported the same day to his native village, Bualkhua, Falam township, for funeral and burial arrangements.
As of the time of reporting, the cause of death had not been officially confirmed, and local authorities had not released any findings. Reports indicated that investigations were ongoing.
It is also reported that Mr. Kim Za Piang is survived by his wife and four children. – Reporting by Daniel
