Heavy airstrikes in Mindat damage residential houses

8 June 2026 – The State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) carried out multiple airstrikes on residential areas in Mindat town, Chin State yesterday.

Local sources reported that two jet fighters from Naypyidaw Air Base dropped two 500-pound bombs on a location in Mindat town at around 1:00 am.

Preliminary information indicates that more than 10 residential houses were damaged in the attack.

Later in the morning, at around 10:47 am and 10:54 am, two jet fighters from Tada-U Air Base reportedly conducted another round of airstrikes, dropping four bombs in two separate strikes on areas within Mindat town.

Details regarding casualties and the full extent of damage have not yet been independently verified.

The Myanmar military junta has been conducting continuous airstrikes on Mindat town and the surrounding area. – Reporting by Ben
