2 June 2026 – The Chinland Defense Force-Hualngoram (CDF-Hualngoram) announced today that travel restrictions on the roadway connecting Laitui village in Tedim township and Rihkhawdar town in Falam township, Chin State, have been lifted, effective immediately.

This restoration of standard access marks a return to normalcy for residents and commuters who have been subject to travel-time limitations for nearly two weeks. The restrictions were initially imposed on 21 May due to deteriorating security conditions in the Hualngoram region.

With the issuance of the latest directive, the CDF-Hualngoram War Office confirmed that improving local conditions have allowed for the resumption of regular travel hours. The public is now permitted to use the Laitui-Rihkhawdar route between 6:00 am and 7:00 pm daily.

The CDF-Hualngoram War Office expressed its gratitude to the local community and road users for their cooperation and compliance with the necessary security protocols during the restricted period.

The lifting of these restrictions occurs against a backdrop of intensified volatility in Chin State. Reports indicate a broader pattern of escalation in mid-2026, characterized by heightened military activity from the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) across the region.

Recent developments include military transport helicopter activity in Falam and Tedim townships, alongside aerial campaigns in neighboring areas.

The reopening of this specific transit artery is a significant development for local mobility amidst ongoing regional efforts to maintain security and civil order in resistance-held territories. – Reporting by Daniel
