22 May 2026 — The Yaw Army has urged civilians and media outlets not to disclose military-related information as intense clashes continue along the Tabyin–Kyaukhtu road in the Yaw region, Magway Region, according to a statement released today.
The group stated that Yaw Army (YA) and allied resistance forces are currently confronting advancing columns of the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC), which entered the area through the Pauk–Tabyin–Kyaukhtu highway.
Heavy fighting has continued on a daily basis amid ongoing military operations.
In its statement, the group warned against sharing battlefield updates, troop movements, or military-related images and information with media outlets or on social media platforms due to operational security concerns during the active conflict period.
The Yaw Army further stated that any necessary military-related announcements would only be released officially and collectively by the allied resistance forces, with security considerations given top priority.
The group also said it would not provide individual interviews to media organisations and stressed that only official statements issued by the organisation should be regarded as authoritative.
Additionally, the Yaw Army appealed to media outlets to cooperate by prioritising security considerations while reporting on the ongoing clashes and military developments in the area. – Reporting by Ben
