19 June 2026 – The Thantlang Township Federation (TTF) announced the successful completion of its leadership restructuring, marking a significant milestone in the organization’s governance.

The establishment of the federation follows the successful organization of all village tract working groups across Thantlang township and the appointment of 30 Executive Officers (EOs).

The federation, formerly known as the Global Thantlang Relief Organization (GTRO), has rebranded as the Thantlang Township Federation to better reflect its current consolidated mandate. This shift in structure is designed to strengthen administrative capacity and provide a unified front for the township’s operational efforts.

To guide its future initiatives, the TTF has formed a diverse Board of Trustees (BT). The board includes representatives from a wide range of stakeholders, ensuring representation from local village tracts, the Thantlang People’s Committee (TPC), the Thantlang Association, international chapters—including representatives from Australia and the United States—and media organizations.

The TTF stated that a dedicated group will be established to facilitate coordination and communication among these members. The federation has identified four primary pillars to guide its upcoming efforts:

  • Fundraising and Resource Mobilization: Strengthening the financial foundation to support local initiatives.
  • Security and Resistance: Coordinating efforts related to protection and resistance-related activities.
  • Development and Humanitarian Aid: Facilitating reconstruction and the delivery of essential humanitarian assistance.
  • Essential Services: Promoting and managing education and healthcare services for the community.

This organizational consolidation takes place against the backdrop of escalating conflict in Chin State. On 20 May 2026, the TTF launched an emergency fundraising appeal, urging all natives of Thantlang Township to contribute a minimum of $100 to support resistance efforts and humanitarian relief in response to intensifying military movements in the region.

With its leadership structure now formalized, the TTF has signaled that operations have begun in earnest. The federation is calling on community members and stakeholders to provide their full support and cooperation to ensure the success of these strategic initiatives. – Reporting by Daniel
