20 February 2026 – The State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC), Myanmar’s military junta, conducted a series of airstrikes in villages across Hakha and Falam townships around 10:00 a.m. today, coinciding with the 78th anniversary of Chin National Day.

The military launched aerial bombardments targeting Chuncung village in Hakha township, as well as Laikua, Ramthlo, Thlanrawn, Tlangzar, and Taal villages in Falam township. These villages are located along the Hakha-Falam main road.

The extent of casualties and property damage remains unconfirmed. Initial reports from local sources suggest no immediate reports of injuries or deaths.

These attacks follow strikes carried out yesterday by the SSPC on Zokhua and Cinkhua villages in Hakha township, and Lumbang village in Falam township. Those earlier strikes resulted in at least three civilians injured and damage to several homes.

An investigation into the full impact of the recent attacks is ongoing.#
