18 December 2025 – The State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) military is conducting continuous airstrikes near Falam town, controlled by Chin defence forces.
Local sources report that the SSPC military bombed areas around Khuangli and Sumhrang villages near Falam using a jet fighter and a Y12 aircraft.
“Today, the jet fighter bombed the Sumhrang village area four times, and similarly, a Y12 also dropped bombs on the Khuangli area. No information on damages or casualties has been reported yet, and a reconnaissance plane is constantly circling,” said a resident.
On 16 December, the military dropped over 20 bombs from a Y12 aircraft near Khuangli village.
A SSPC military column advancing toward Falam town from Taingen village crossed the Var River and is now near Khuangli village, leading to clashes with Chin defence forces.
Another column of the SSPC military, which advanced from Webula town towards Falam town, is also reported to be still in the vicinity of Sumhrang village.
Falam town, which is under the control of the Chin National Defence Force (CNDF), is included in the election list planned by the SSPC military. Consequently, the SSPC military is launching a massive offensive to regain control.
The SSPC military initiated its large-scale military operation from the directions of Kalay, Tedim, and Webula towns in late October, and Chin defence forces are still making joint operations to resist the attacks to this day. – Reporting by Daniel
