SSPC airstrike kills 4 civilians in Wetlet township, Sagaing Region

18 December 2025 – An airstrike carried out by the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) on Se Taw village, Wetlet township, on the evening of 17 December, killed four residents, including two women, according to the Wetlet Information Network.

The attack occurred at approximately 8:30 pm when a jet fighter reportedly dropped two 250-pound bombs on the village.

The bombardment resulted in the deaths of 70-year-old Mr. Nyun Wai, his wife, Mrs. Myint Kyi, also 70, 25-year-old Mr. Zeyar Htun, and an unnamed middle-aged woman. 

The strike also injured approximately five others. Additionally, three houses and one car were destroyed by fire.

This incident follows a separate SSPC bombing on 13 December at 9:30 pm, which targeted a displacement camp near Than Kone Taw Forest, south of Htone Bo village in the northeastern part of Wetlet township, killing four displaced persons.

The SSPC continues to conduct daily airstrikes on areas controlled by revolutionary forces, including Wetlet township and other parts of Sagaing Region, leading to a mounting toll of civilian casualties. – Reporting by Daniel
