30 October 2025 – The Department of Education of the Chinland Defence Force-Thantlang (CDF-Thantlang) issued a warning statement yesterday, urging all schools in the township to close until further notice following consistent airstrikes.

The decision comes in response to what the Department describes as indiscriminate aerial attacks by the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC), formerly known as the SAC.

The Department of Education highlighted that the SSPC has deliberately targeted residential homes and schools in aerial bombings, a pattern reportedly seen across Chin State, resulting in numerous casualties.

Recent incidents include bombings of Myanmar’s military junta on 8 October in Vawmm’tu and Htin Chaung villages, Mindat township, which killed three students and a disabled woman.

Further attacks on 13 October in Vanha village, Hakha township, resulted in the deaths of two students, aged 8 and 12, and injured 21 others, including students and teachers. Additionally, a school in Zathal village, Hakha township, was subjected to an aerial bombing on 21 October.

On 10 October, the Mindat Township People’s Administration in Chin State announced that all schools in the township would be temporarily closed following the recent indiscriminate airstrikes by SAC’s military junta.

Similarly, the CDF-Hakha Central Council has ordered all schools in areas under its control to close indefinitely.

In light of these events, the Chinland Government’s Ministry of Education has appealed to the international community to impose severe penalties on the SSPC for these deliberate acts against civilians, students, and teachers. – Reporting by Daniel#
