21 October 2025 – Myanmar’s military junta conducted two airstrikes on a school in Zathal village, Senthang area, Hakha township, early this morning, around 12:55 am and 1:00 am.

No casualties have been reported from the attacks in Zathal, a small village about 23 miles from Hakha, the capital of Chin State.

The Senthang Central Council has strongly condemned the attack, accusing the SAC of deliberately targeting a school, children, and local residents.

The council urged the public under its controlled areas to close all schools until further notice and avoid gatherings and festivals as much as possible.

In response to the violence, the Council issued a public advisory, stating that the SAC is using threats and continuous fighting to ensure the success of its planned election as it called on communities not to participate.

Around the same time at night, SAC also conducted airstrikes at least three times in Hruangvun village, about 40 miles from Hakha town, targeting the base of a local defence group. No casualties were reported from the attacks.

This incident follows a previous SAC airstrike on 13 October on the school in Vanha village, Hakha township, resulting in the deaths of an 8-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl, and causing injuries to 5 teachers and 16 students. – Reporting by Daniel.
