10 October 2025 – The Mindat Township People’s Administration in Chin State announced that all schools in the township would be temporarily closed starting from 10 October following the recent indiscriminate airstrikes by SAC’s military junta.

The letter issued yesterday urged all schools and student hostels to temporarily close as the SAC (recently named as State Security and Peace Commission) targeted school children and students in its attacks.

Similarly, the Mindat Township Education Board has requested all schools under its management cease operations until further notice while expressing sorrow for the fatalities and injuries resulting from recent airstrike attacks.

SAC’s aerial bombardments last Wednesday in the two villages of Htin Chaung and Vawmm’tu village, and Saturday in Mindat town killed at least four students, injured dozens and damaged several homes and buildings.# – Reporting by Benjamin
