Principal of Chin Christian College Visited Institutions in The UK

London, UK: Rev. Dr. Henry Siang Kung, Principal of Chin Christian College (CCC) in Hakha, Chin State, is making a seven-week trip to the UK to visit institutions in order to observe and learn about educational systems.
Kung has already visited various learning institutions including the University of Birmingham, Solihull College (near Birmingham), the International Mission Centre of the BMS (Baptist Mission Society), Fircroft College (Birmingham), Spurgeon’s College (London) and Regent’s Park College (Oxford University).
The principal’s other important visits were to the Bible Society at Swindon and the London office of WACC (World Association for Christian Communication).
He was invited to make a short presentation about CCC at Birmingham Midland Travellers’ Club and Solihull Methodist Church. Also, he met some asylum seekers at the Drop-in Centre of Solihull Churches Together in Central Solihull.
“It’s been really great visiting and meeting with people who have such important responsibilities in so many different institutions and organizations. I hope these meetings will be the first steps towards building many long-term relationships in the future,” said the Principal.
This is the very first time the Principal of Chin Christian College has made a fact-finding and exploratory visit to the UK.
“CCC is taking these opportunities to ensure that its importance will be recognized by other educational institutions world-wide. At the same time, CCC hopes to develop its educational program and campus. This will help CCC make real progress and response to the educational needs of its students, and so present them with up-to-date information about the current educational world. The College is for the benefit of all the people of Myanmar and, in particular, the Chins throughout the world. It requires each one of us to make it successful,” added Dr. Kung as he expressed his thanks to churches, organizations and individuals that have helped and supported the College in various ways on this visit to England.
Kung is yet programmed to meet with people who have relevant responsibilities at Cliff College (Calver near Sheffield), the Queen’s College (Birmingham) and at Operation Mobilization (Halesowen).
At the kind invitation of many friends and fellow Chins in Europe, Rev. Dr. Henry Siang Kung will continue his journey to Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Germany to visit Chin communities, other Christian leaders and institutions.
Chin Christian College was established in 1990 by the Chin Association of Christian Communication (CACC). Rev. Dr. Henry Siang Kung is also the Secretary of the Education Department of CACC based in Hakha, the capital of Chin State.
