5 June 2026 – A State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) military convoy of 11 vehicles carrying its troops, police personnel, and ammunition departed from the Regional Military Command Headquarters in Kalay town, Sagaing Region, and headed toward the Chin State via the 9-Mile route at around 11:00 am on 4 June.

Local sources reported that the convoy consisted of 2 twelve-wheel trucks, 4 Forland trucks and 5 military vehicles. Witnesses said the vehicles were covered with tarpaulins and were transporting troops, police officers, military supplies, and ammunition.

“The SSPC military vehicles were covered with tarps. Both SSPC military soldiers and police officers were onboard with full weapons. We also saw military equipment being transported,” a local eyewitness told The Surbung Times.

Sources further reported that some armed individuals in civilian clothing were also traveling with the convoy, in addition to uniformed SSPC personnel.
