15 May 2026 – Chin resistance forces launched a successful ambush on a State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) column yesterday, along the Falam-Hakha Road in Chin State.

The attack resulted in the death of four SSPC soldiers and left a Hakha-based tactical commander and three other officers with serious injuries.

The attack targeted SSPC military forces—including a column of approximately 500 troops advancing from Falam toward the state capital, Hakha—near Chuncung village.

According to resistance sources, the Chinland Defence Force-Hakha (CDF-Hakha) and allied groups executed the assault using drones and artillery, striking a column led by the injured commander.

Reports indicated preparations were immediately made for a helicopter to evacuate the seriously wounded commander for medical treatment.

In retaliation, SSPC troops stationed in Chuncung village burned a total of nine houses overnight. This incident aligns with reported patterns of SSPC forces burning civilian homes during previous advances along the Falam-Hakha corridor, including in Thlanrawn village earlier in May, as part of their aggressive military offensive to reclaim control of the area.

The attack comes amid intense, ongoing fighting in the Falam-Hakha area, a key front in the SSPC’s broader campaign to restore administrative control, following their recent recapture of Falam town.

The conflict continues to displace civilians from nearby villages, compounding a regional humanitarian crisis. – Reporting by Daniel
