14 May 2026 – The Chinland Defense Force-Hakha (CDF-Hakha) announced the arrest of a pro-State Security and Peace Commission-Militia (Pro-SSPC militia) member in Hakha town, Chin State, yesterday.

The individual was detained for allegedly threatening public security through extortion, burglary, and armed robbery targeting civilians and their homes.

In light of the ongoing security situation, CDF-Hakha strongly urged the public to avoid unnecessary travel to nearby forests, mountainous areas, and locations around Hakha town where military activities may occur, for their own safety.

The organization affirmed its commitment to protecting civilians and their property, and urged residents to cooperate with local authorities by promptly reporting any suspicious activities observed in their communities.

The SSPC, which the arrested man is affiliated with, is currently conducting frequent airstrikes and ground offensives across Chin State, including intense nighttime strikes on Kanpetlet and repeated attacks on Mindat, leading to the destruction of civilian homes and significant displacement. – Reporting by Daniel
