14 October 2025 – The SAC’s military junta carried out another airstrike early this morning on an area between Matupi General Hospital and the police station in Matupi town, Chin State.
Two bombs were dropped around 7:00 am, but no casualties have been reported so far. There are some damages on the hospital, according to local sources.
This latest attack follows a deadly airstrike on 11 October 2025 when a jet fighter from Nay Pyi Taw airbase bombed the town around 8:00 pm. The aerial bombardment struck the compound and the surrounding areas of the Fire Department Office near the town centre.
The airstrikes came just days after the SAC announced that no elections would be held in Mindat, Matupi, and Kanpetlet townships, areas currently under the control of the Chin Defence Forces (CDF).
Observers believe the air attacks demonstrate an escalation of the junta’s military operations in resistance-held territories. In recent days, SAC aircraft also targeted Mindat township, adjacent to Matupi, killing and injuring several civilians in similar assaults.
Yesterday, another airstrike by the SAC, recently renamed as State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC), hit a local school in Vanha village, Hakha township, killing at least two students and injuring dozens. – Reporting by Benjamin
