11 October 2025 – SAC’s military junta launches airstrikes in Matupi town at about 8pm last night, using one jet fighter from Nay Pyi Taw airbase.
The aerial bombardments, assumed to be twice, struck the compound and surrounding areas of the Fire Department Office in the town.
SAC aircraft reportedly dropped two 500-pound bombs near the center of town, resulting in several fatalities although initial information suggested the victims were not residents of Matupi town. The exact number of casualties and the full extent of the damage remain under verification.
The airstrikes occurred shortly after the SAC announced that no elections would be held in Chin State’s Mindat, Matupi, and Kanpetlet townships, which are under the control of the Chin Defense Forces (CDF).
Observers believe this escalation reflects the SAC’s intensified military operations in resistance-held areas.
In recent days, SAC targeted Mindat township, adjacent to Matupi town, in its aerial attacks, killing and injuring several civilians.
The Matupi Revolution News on Facebook said that Matupi town is under the control of the CDF-Matupi and the Chin Brotherhood in alliance with the Arakan Army (AA). – Reporting by Benjamin.
