Polical parties in Chin State to check posted voters’ list
15 September 2015 — Political parties contesting in Chin State are inspecting the list of eligible voters issued by the State Election Commission as many names are reported missing.
Party’s leading members said that they would have to take necessary action to ensure every eligible voter was included in the list.
A Chin National Democratic Party leader said that they could not afford to lose a vote, adding: “A single vote is very important to make change in our country. Therefore, we have people assigned to go over the list.”
The SEC said that they were welcoming the move and that the list would be immediately updated if they were informed of the names that were not included.
According to the Commission, the deadline for submitting missing names is 27 September.
The SEC posted the list the second time after making correction of errors and addition of missing names to the first list issued on 8 June this year.
In Chin State, there are 273,396 eligible voters on the current list, an increase of 6,453 from the first record.#
