Storm destroys church buildings, houses in Kalay

30 March 2015 — A violent storm that hit Kalay areas of Sagaing region on Saturday brought to destruction more than 20 buildings.

The damage included three Chin churches, one school and one house for teachers, and Christian quarters in the villages of Sekan and Sadaw, according to the Chinland Today.

It is reported that at least 15 Sadaw houses were badly damaged and that another village called Maungsone had about two homes destroyed.

Khuang Tin Mang, a Chin resident in Sadaw, said that he had never come across a storm worse than the one in 40 years of his life in the village.

No casualties have been reported till date.#
