Six Churches in Delhi Held Combined Youth Workshop
01 September 2011: Chin Churches based in New Delhi, India organised a ‘combined’ workshop for youths on 27 August 2011, where about 180 people participated.
The workshop, jointly hosted by Chin Christian Fellowship (CCF), Lai Christian Church (LCC), Chin Believer Church (CBC), United Pentecostal Church (UPC), Zyphe Christian Fellowship (ZPCF) and Delhi Chin Baptist Church (DCBC) had two key speakers.
One of the speakers, Dr. Hla Aung, presented a paper on Chin Culture and Education Opportunity for Chin Youth while Salai Bawi Lian Mang, Executive Director of Chin Human Rights Organisation (CHRO), talked about Advocacy and Chin Youth.
Robert Hram Hlei Cung, Secretary of Youth Department of the six Chin churches, said: “The workshop ended successfully and safely. We are much grateful to our speakers for their insightful yet invaluable presentations.”
In May this year, the Chin churches held a ‘combined’ workshop in New Delhi, India with two main speakers, Victor Biak Lian, CHRO Board of Director and a medical doctor Dr. Par Iang Sung.
It is estimated that there are about 10,000 Chin refugees from Chin State, Burma stranded in New Delhi, with more than 30 Chin churches up to date.
