Chin Woman Found Dead in US Mansion

19 July 2011: Rebecca Zahau, aka Rebecca Hniang Cin Mawi, was found dead in a mansion with her hands and feet bound, and a rope around her neck hanging from a balcony in a beach town, Coronado last Wednesday.

The 32-year-old girlfriend of multimillionaire Jonah Shacknai who owns the mansion, was naked and tied up with some sorts of orange-coloured cords when the local authorities discovered the body following a houseguest Adam Shacknai’s call to the police.

It is reported that the boyfriend Jonah Shacknai was not at home when the incident happened in his multi-million mansion in the wealthy Californian town.

Mary Zahau-Loehner, Rebecca’s sister who lives in St. Joseph, Missouri, was quoted by ABC News as saying that she had a phone conversation with her on Tuesday night and that she was just fine.

‘Shocked and devastated’ at the mysterious death of Rebecca Zahau, the family plans to hold her funeral service in Missouri State, where her parents live.

The mansion has got a recent history of violent incident where an emergency phone call to the police was made for Jonah Shacknai’s 6-year-old son, who is now hospitalised in Coronado.

An investigation is still carried out as to how the ‘mysterious’ accident happened. Her body was taken for an autopsy operation on Thursday but the results have not been released, according to sources.

Rebecca Hniang Cin Mawi, 32, is the second eldest daughter among six siblings of Pu Khua Hnin Thang and Pi Zung Tin Par from Phunte village of Falam Township in Chin State, Burma.
