Dozens of Soldiers Taken to Hospital After Accident in Chin State
15 June 2011: About 40 Burma Army soldiers are reportedly being treated at Kalay Military Hospital after one of the two commandeered minibuses en route to Kalay Myo from Hakha Town had a road accident near Varung village in Falam Township today.
The soldiers, thought to be about 80 in total, were said to have travelled in a group of 40 by two minibuses belonging to the local bus companies called Chintaungtan and Shwechindeih based in Hakha when the accident took place about 40 miles from Kalay Myo.
Two soldiers were reportedly dead in the accident, according to unconfirmed sources from Falam Town.
It is also claimed that one of the drivers is injured.
No details as to how the accident occurred are yet known.
Meanwhile, three Chin students studying at Hmawbi Technological University are said to have been involved in a road accident today.
A source from Rangoon told Chinland Guardian that one of the three students is still unconscious and being treated at the hospital.
