A native of Matupi, he had participated in anti-coup protests before joining the resistance movement and had served with CDF-Matupi since its early stages. His death prompted tributes and condolences from fellow resistance members, friends, and family.
On 30 May, Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma hosted UFC Flyweight Champion Joshua Van for tea today at his office, praising him as an inspiration to Mizo youth. On 31 May, the body of 36-year-old Chin man named Tha Cung Lian was recovered from the Tlawng River in Aizawl, Mizoram State, after he fell into the river while setting fishing nets on 29 May. His body was found following a community-led search effort and was later transported to his native village in Thantlang township, Chin State, for burial. He is survived by his wife and two children.
On 31 May, a motorboat operator from Mr. Phy Sey, a village in Paletwa township, Chin State, was reported missing for more than a week after travelling to Rakhine State to transport goods. His family said contact was lost during the trip, and although the boat was later found, his whereabouts remain unknown.
