17 July 2026 — A fighter jet operated by the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) carried out two airstrikes on Mindat town in Chin State on the evening of 17 July.

Local sources reported the fighter jet, believed to have taken off from Tada-U Air Base, conducted bombing runs at approximately 6:07 pm and 6:12 pm, targeting two locations in the town.

According to local sources, one bomb struck near the Maternal and Child Health Office in San Pya Ward, while another hit the site of the former Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) office in A Shay Pyin Ward. Several nearby buildings were damaged.

The aircraft reportedly dropped two high-explosive bombs, believed by local sources to weigh 500 pounds each.

Information on casualties was not immediately available, and the full extent of the damage remains under assessment. – Reporting by Ben
