22 June 2026 – The State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) carried out multiple airstrikes near Mindat town, Chin State today.
According to local sources, two jet-fighter aircraft from Naypyidaw’s Aela Air Base and one jet fighter from Tada-U Air Base conducted three rounds of airstrikes on a location near Mindat between approximately 7:04 pm and 7:14 pm.
The aircraft dropped a total of six bombs during the attacks.
Local sources further reported that a Y-12 bomber aircraft from Tada-U Air Base carried out a second wave of aerial bombardment in the same area between 7:26 pm and 8:25 pm.
The aircraft conducted 13 bombing runs, dropping bombs in groups of two, three, and six, with an estimated total of around 60 bombs released.
Information regarding casualties and damage was not immediately available at the time of reporting.
The reported airstrikes have raised concerns among residents in the area, as aerial attacks continue to affect communities across Mindat and Kanpalet townships, Chin State. – Reporting by Ben
