16 June 2026 – The State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) intensified military operations in Mindat township, Chin State, carrying out multiple airstrikes and troop movements.
During the early morning of 16 June, at approximately 7:00 am, 7:05 am, 7:07 am, and 7:12 am, two military fighter jets from Naypyidaw’s Air Base launched four airstrikes on a location in the eastern part of Mindat township.
Local reports indicated that a total of eight bombs were dropped during the attacks. Information regarding casualties and damage has not yet been confirmed.
The airstrikes followed a series of attacks conducted the previous night on 15 June. At approximately 11:03 pm, 11:08 pm, 11:17 pm, and 11:21 pm, two Yak-130 fighter jets from Naypyidaw’s Air Base carried out four bombing runs on a location east of Mindat township.
Local sources reported that eight bombs were dropped during the operation.
Separately, a military vehicle carrying a full contingent of troops was reportedly seen moving from Infantry Battalion 368 (IB-368) in Kyaukhtu and reached the vicinity of Gonbo Bridge on the morning of 16 June.
