4 May 2026 – The State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) continued aerial resupply operations for a third consecutive day in Kyaukhtu town, Saw township, Magway Region, reinforcing positions at Infantry Battalion 368 and the nearby airstrip on 1 May, according to local sources.
The initial local report from Yaw Atlinn Tan indicates that a Y-12 transport aircraft, reportedly departing from Magway Air Base, arrived at around 3:00 pm and carried out multiple supply drops before leaving at approximately 4:00 pm.
A total of 10 packages were dropped. The first two were sandbags, likely used to test wind conditions and improve drop accuracy.
The remaining supplies included communication equipment, signal jammers, 12-volt batteries, and generators. Weapons and ammunition were also reportedly delivered over the three-day period, indicating continued efforts to strengthen military positions.
An SSPC military column of around 500 troops departed earlier that day from the KaPaSa 22 facility in Seikphyu township and moved northward. By evening, the column had reached near Paukthu Ma village. Its destination remains unclear, with uncertainty over whether it will advance toward Yaw region or Chin State.
Observers said military preparations have intensified over the past week, raising concerns about possible escalation in Yaw region and nearby areas of Chin State. Local residents have been urged to remain alert as the situation evolves. – Reporting by Ben
