23 April 2026 — A joint resistance force led by the Chin Defence Force (Asho) launched a rocket attack on the junta’s No. 14 Defence Products Factory (KaPaSa-14) on 20 April, killing three junta personnel and damaging key facilities.
The operation, carried out in collaboration with the New Society Army (NSA), targeted weapons storage and production buildings within the heavily guarded compound near Shauktaung village.
The assault began at approximately 2:00 pm using short-range rockets. Resistance sources confirmed that one junta officer and two soldiers were killed at the scene, while at least 13 others sustained injuries.
Following the blasts, several buildings used for ordnance manufacturing were reportedly set ablaze, causing significant damage to the junta’s local supply chain.
This strike on a major military production site comes amidst an intensifying campaign by the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) to reclaim lost territory across Myanmar. In Chin State, the SSPC has recently launched massive aerial bombardments and ground offensives targeting strategic infrastructure, including Surbung Airport and the Var bridge.
The attack on KaPaSa-14 highlights the ability of resistance forces to strike high-value military industrial targets even outside the primary conflict zones in Chin State.
Eyewitnesses reported that some junta troops fled the base in panic during the rocket fire. Local sources indicate that SSPC forces have since established checkpoints and are conducting searches in Ngape township to detain the deserting personnel. – Reporting by Ben
