6 March 2026 — A clash between Myanmar military forces and Chin resistance fighters along the Taingen–Falam road in Falam township, Chin State resulted in the deaths of three military personnel, including one officer, and one fighter from the Chin National Defence Force (CNDF).
The fighting, reported by The Voice of Chinland, began on the afternoon of 3 March. A SSPC (State Security and Peace Commission) military column advancing from Taingen village toward Falam town was ambushed by joint Chin resistance forces near Hlanzawl village, leading to intense combat.
An initial account quoted a resident saying: “A group of military troops stationed in Taingen advanced toward Falam along the Thantlang–Falam road. Our forces launched an ambush near Hlanzawl village.”
In addition to the three SSPC military fatalities, at least four other personnel were seriously injured.
Clashes reportedly continued along the same road on 4 March, with further unconfirmed casualties reported on the military side. Local sources indicate the military column is currently positioned on a hill location near Hlanzawl village.
The security situation on the Taingen–Falam road remains tense, and the possibility of further clashes is high. Local residents and travellers are advised to exercise caution and monitor security updates from local authorities and resistance groups. – Reporting by Ben
