Junta airstrikes damage civilian homes in Mindat township

26 November 2025 – The Myanmar military conducted an unprovoked nighttime airstrike near a village in Mindat township, Chin State, late last night, damaging several civilian houses.

The aerial attack by the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC), formerly State Administration Council (SAC), occurred around 10:30 pm in an area of Circle No. 2 controlled by the CDF-Mindat resistance force.

A jet fighter, reportedly flying from Tata-U air base, made two passes, dropping a total of four bombs between 10:40 pm and 10:44 pm.

Local residents reported that the bombs landed near a village, destroying multiple civilian homes. Witnesses added that the jet flew low before releasing the bombs in what appeared to be a random strike, as no immediate military target was visible.

The detailed information about the damage is yet to be confirmed. Local inquiries are underway to confirm if there were any casualties.

Mindat Township has been subjected to frequent aerial assaults since CDF-Mindat and allied forces took control of the area in December 2024. Earlier airstrikes in October resulted in civilian casualties

Communities in southern Chin State have been advised to remain cautious as air attacks intensify in areas outside the SSPC’s control. – Reporting by Benjamin
