9 November 2025 – Fighting has flared between local defense groups and the Myanmar military along the Kalay-Tedim road as junta forces press their advance toward Taingen village in Tedim township.

Local sources report an intensification of armed clashes as military soldiers arrived in Taingen village, a known base for local defense group members.

Approximately 300 soldiers, from the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC), entered the village from Tedim town late last Friday, 7 November 2025. This follows earlier skirmishes reported in the area on 6 November.

On 5 November, at least five junta’s soldiers were killed in a mine attack by local defence forces in Tedim township.

The escalating conflict is exacerbating a humanitarian crisis. A report by Mizzima (Burmese language) indicates that over 7,000 residents across eight villages in Tedim township have been newly displaced by the fighting and troop movements, and are in urgent need of humanitarian aid.

Separately, local sources noted a troop movement on 7 November, with a column of approximately 600 junta soldiers departing Webula town and advancing toward Falam town.#
