9 November 2025 – An exchange of fire between the Myanmar military junta and local defence forces was reported today in Khuathar Ward, Hakha town.
A community leader in Hakha confirmed hearing multiple gunshots. “We are certain that fighting has occurred, but no detailed information is currently available,” he said.
Local sources indicate that at least three individuals were injured after gunfire struck several houses in the vicinity. One source confirmed that a male resident was shot in the thigh while taking cover inside their home and has been hospitalized. The other two injured were reported to be road workers.
The sudden outbreak of violence prevented residents in Khuathar Ward from attending church services.
The latest clash follows an incident last Thursday, where Myanmar military forces in Hakha reportedly attacked a checkpoint manned by local defence forces on the outskirts of the town.#
