22 July 2026 — The Chin Refugee Committee (CRC) in New Delhi has urged Chin refugees and asylum seekers in the city to avoid participating in or becoming involved in ongoing protests, public gatherings, and unrest.

The CRC called on the community to respect Indian laws and regulations and avoid activities that could affect their personal safety, legal status, or the wider refugee community.

It also advised refugees to stay away from protest and unrest-affected areas, follow instructions from authorities, and refrain from sharing unverified information or content that could incite others.

The committee further encouraged Chin refugees to remind family members and others in the community to remain vigilant and act responsibly.

Tensions reportedly continued between authorities and protesters at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on 22 July, amid concerns over India’s examination system. – Reporting by Daniel
