21 July 2026 — The State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) carried out airstrikes on an area between Htilin and Kyaukhtu townships in the Yaw region of Magway Region, followed by the airdropping of packages containing ammunition and supplies.
Local sources reported that a Y-12 multipurpose transport aircraft flew from Meiktila Air Base and carried out an attack on an area between Aung village in Htilin township and Gyi village in Kyaukhtu township at around 6:30 am on 21 July, dropping at least 10 bombs.
Following the airstrikes, the aircraft dropped several packages containing supplies and ammunition by parachute, according to local sources.
Later that morning, at around 8:00 am, another Y-12 multipurpose transport aircraft arrived in the area from Meiktila Air Base and circled for approximately 45 minutes before dropping additional packages containing ammunition and supplies near Gyi village and surrounding areas in Kyaukhtu township.
According to local sources, each parachute carried three packages, while some carried four to five packages. The packages were reportedly dropped in 10 separate airdrops, with approximately 40 packages delivered in total.
Meanwhile, a military column comprising more than 200 troops and one vehicle reportedly departed from Artillery Battalion No. 368 in Kyaukhtu on 17 July and traveled north along the Pansan–Gyi–Shweaungtha–Htilin main road. The column remains stationed in Gyi Village, Kyaukhtu Township, according to local sources.
The troops have reportedly deployed positions north of the village and in surrounding areas. – Reporting by Ben
